King Diamond is renowned for his occult themes and demonic stories, as well as his penchant for atmospheric horror scenarios and changing masks. He is one of the most outstanding figures in today's metal scene. He wrote metal history with Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, and has been an important part of the scene for decades. Since 1986, he has released many classic horror metal albums which, due to their exceptional storylines and musical diversity, are unique in the hard rock genre.
His seventh studio album, The Graveyard, was released in 1996 through Massacre Records. It is a dark concept album that follows the sinister story of abuse and revenge involving a corrupt mayor, his daughter Lucy, and the asylum escapee narrator. It is renowned for its intricate storytelling, dual vocals and memorable tracks such as "Black Hill Sanitarium" and "Digging Graves".
