Mentalist are a melodic metal band from Saarbücken, Germany, formed in 2018. "Journey Into The Unknown" is the second album with which the band takes a big step forward. Mentalist are Peter Moog (guitars), Thomen Stauch (drums, ex Blind Guradian), Kai Stringer (guitars, ex Starchild) and exceptional singer Rob Lundgren (200,000 YouTube followers) on the mic. Oliver Palotai (Kamelot; keyboards) Mike LePond (Symphony X) together with singer Henning Basse (Metalium, Firewind; backing vocals) complete the troupe. As with the previous album, the focus is on great guitar melodies and vocal lines. Great artwork by Andreas Marschall, with the band mascot Mentalist as a recurring focal point, also visually on tour. Mix by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids etc.). Influences from Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Helloween and others are developed further with their own identity. Simply a damn good metal record.
