Hellbender - Slipcase CD

The unique Acid were formed in Bruges in 1980 (originally under the name Precious Page) and are considered one of the first speed metal bands on the European continent. They released three legendary albums, “Acid” (1983), ‘Maniac’ (also 1983), and “Engine Beast” (1985), before their untimely breakup in the mid-1980s. In 2019, singer Kate de Lombaert ventured a new start under the name Kate's Acid, followed in 2024 by the live album “Blowing Your Ears Off” on High Roller Records (recorded at the Keep It True Festival).

And now, with Hellbender, the brand-new studio album is in the starting blocks. Kate has written nine new songs together with exceptional guitarist Geert Annys. The current lineup is completed by drummer Ash and Camilo (Thunder Screamer) Ortego from Colombia, who is active in the band Axe Steeler and contributed most of the bass parts. The album was recorded in Belgium and Colombia. Jacky Lehmann took care of the mix in his Berlin studio.

For Kate herself, Hellbenger is a legitimate successor to Maniac, her favorite Acid album.
