King Diamond is renowned for his tales of the occult and demonic themes, as well as his penchant for atmospheric horror and changing masks. He is one of the most outstanding figures in today's metal scene. He wrote metal history with Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, and has been an important part of the scene for decades. Since 1986, he has released many classic horror metal albums which, due to their exceptional storylines and musical diversity, are unique in the hard rock genre.
Released in 1987, Abigail is King Diamond's second album and a concept record revolving around a haunted mansion, the malevolent ghost of a stillborn child and the tragic fate of the property's new owners. Cloaked in dark drama and reminiscent of classic early horror films, many fans consider this to be the definitive King Diamond album.
