The Melvins and Napalm Death join forces for Savage Imperial Death March—a collaborative album that is being released officially and in expanded form for the first time, combining the uncompromising energy of two pioneering heavy legends.

After two joint headlining tours over the past decade, the Melvins continue their longstanding tradition of recording an album with another band. Next up is Napalm Death. This is not a split release, with each band claiming one side for themselves. Savage Imperial Death March is a complete collaboration, with the Melvins and Napalm Death playing together on all tracks.

This is an expanded version with two additional songs, brand new artwork by Mackie Osborne, new vinyl variants, and will be officially available for the first time in record stores, on DSPs, and other retailers. Napalm Death are considered pioneers of the grindcore genre, incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal. Even after nearly 40 years of having an indelible influence on the entire world of heavy music, there is still no band in the world that sounds like Napalm Death. The legends from Birmingham are not only pioneers, but also a lasting benchmark for inventiveness and fearlessness in heavy and experimental music of all kinds, and they are still going strong. The Melvins are one of the most influential bands in modern music.

Founded in 1983 by singer/guitarist Buzz Osborne, with drummer Dale Crover joining a year later, the group is credited with fusing the worlds of punk rock and heavy music to create a new subgenre all their own. Over the course of their 40-year career, they have released more than 30 original albums, numerous live albums, and countless singles and rarities.
