Sleeping Pulse is the name of the musical collaboration between Mick Moss (Antimatter) and Luís Fazendeiro (Painted Black) from Portugal. While Moss focuses exclusively on lyrics and vocal lines for the first time, in contrast to Antimatter, the music is entirely penned by Fazendeiro. With their joint debut “Under The Same Sky,” the musicians have created a multifaceted, modern rock album that skillfully bridges a robust progressive foundation with fragile acoustic passages, electronic elements, and soulful string arrangements. Daniel Cardoso (Anathema) is responsible for mixing and mastering, giving the album a clear and differentiated, but always powerful sound. Despite its musical diversity, “Under The Same Sky” sounds homogeneous at all times, which is also due to the perfectly staged voice of Mick Moss, who delivers what is probably his strongest vocal performance to date. In terms of content, Moss once again explores the depths of the human soul, basing the lyrics on an elaborate concept of sociopathic manipulation.
