To celebrate their 20th anniversary, TOTAL ANNIHILATION will release their fourth full-length album, Mountains of Madness. This album delivers all the Swiss precision and trademark elements that their fans have come to expect, but with more of everything: more tempo, more speed, more brutality, more power, more thrash and more death, as well as more harmonies, melodies and musicality! There are also more tentacles, more jaws, more razor-sharp teeth, more twisted mutations and more evil than ever before! 'Mountains of Madness' is conceived as an echo of, and a bold manifesto about, the state of the world, as well as an artistic reflection of our times. Back in 2006, things looked less bleak when a group of young musicians were just looking to have a good time. Vocalist Daniel Altwegg joined forces with three friends, determined to form the hardest, loudest and rawest metal band in their home city of Basel, Switzerland. After experimenting with different styles, the band settled on a course combining aggressive yet melodic elements of death and thrash metal.
