1979 war der Gründungsjahr der französischen Heavy Power Metal Band Nightmare. Die Band erlangte ihre erste große Bekanntheit, als sie 1983 im Vorprogramm von Def Leppard auftrat. Mit Waiting for the Twilight erschient 1984 das Debütalbum, welches zum 40-jährigen Jubiläum als 3-CD Package neu aufgelegt wird.
