Description
Tarja Turunen has been on the road as a solo artist since 2005. The former singer of the Finnish symphonic rock formation Nightwish has since then only called herself Tarja and has released numerous albums in the meantime.
Whether classical, recorded live or colorful symphonic rock, she laid the foundation for her later solo success back in 2007 with her English-language rock debut "My Winter Storm.
The stylistically diverse record reached No. 3 in the album charts in Germany and was awarded gold. In the course of the anniversary, the album opener "I Walk Alone" will be released as a limited 10-inch special edition on white vinyl.
The almost meditative track at the beginning, underscored by metal guitars and symphonic orchestra, culminates in a catchy and monumental hard rock chorus, to which Tarja adds the sparkling vocal crown.
In addition to the "Single Version" and the "Artist Version", the 10inch single contains three further mix versions of the song: the striking "In Extremo Remix" with the typical sounds of the German medieval band, the heavily electronic "The Tweaker Remix" and the truly dark "The Darkroom Mix" by Deviousnoise.
By the way, "I Walk Alone" was penned by the successful Swedish songwriting team Wollbeck/Lindblom/Sommerdahl (who also worked for Tina Arena, jazzman Till Brönner or South Korea's Girls' Generation, among others).
