EU PAYMENT SERVICES POLICY PSD2

 

Changes from January 1, 2021

As of January 1, 2021, the EU Payment Services Directive PSD2 2-factor authentication became mandatory for all online merchants. Customers must now authenticate themselves using strong customer authentication (SCA). For this purpose, two of three non linked security factors must be used; PSD2 provides for the following factors:

  • Passwort, PIN, ...
  • Smart device, SIM card, physical credit card, ...
  • Fingerprint, facial recognition, ...




CHANGES FOR THE CUSTOMER:

 

  • You will be asked to uniquely authenticate more often than before. Multiple authentication will increase security in the payment area. You need a CardService SecureCode, or an activated pushTAN in your banking app. .
