Black metal from the Black Forest: IMPERIUM DEKADENZ. The atmospheric black metal band from Germany was formed in 2004 by its two masterminds Horaz and Vespasian. While their name goes back to the 1970s movie classic “Caligula” which is known for its ultra-violent content, their lyrics deal with topics like death, mourning, hate and desperation. Every tune stays true to the genre’s core but their overall style is enriched by acoustic and ambient parts as well as classic and neo-folk music.
