ANTROPOMORPHIA are back! Six years after their acclaimed sixth full-length album “Merciless Savagery” (2019), the Dutch messengers of death return with their most brutal and sinister album to date, aptly titled “Devoid of Light”. Although ANTROPOMORPHIA spent a total of two and a half years in the studio for “Devoid of Light”, they never lost sight of their vision: namely to combine a variety of harsh musical textures, including fanatical aggression, misanthropic and nihilistic lyrics with dark emotions such as anger, despair and pain to create dark and oppressive soundscapes. ANTROPOMORPHIA were raised from the grave in Tilburg, the Netherlands, in 1990. As pioneers of their genre, they quickly became a foundation of the death metal scene in the Netherlands. Despite occasional interruptions, ANTROPOMORPHIA have continuously consolidated their status as underground icons with a series of acclaimed releases. Their uncompromising approach and ever-expanding maelstrom of musical textures brought an ever-growing influence of black metal elements into the Dutch band's musical and visual DNA. Now ANTROPOMORPHIA return with “Devoid of Light” and show the world that they still thirst to push the boundaries of the death metal scene.
