FALKENBACH were originally a solo project conceived by Vratyas Vakyas and officially became active for the first time in 1995 with the demo "Læknishendr". Their last album for the time being, "Asa" from 2013, has since left their considerably large fan base clamouring for a successor. "Asa" confirms the rule of thumb that every new work by the German multi-instrumentalist builds on its predecessor, consistently continues it and subtly expands it. Thus, "Asa" once again combines all the key elements in the epic and highly melodic Pagan Metal hymns. A multitude of optional ingredients, ranging from folkloristic acoustics to harsh black metal vocals, are deliberately interspersed to suit the respective song. With clearly the best production of all FALKENBACH albums, "Asa" stands on its pedestal as the mature culmination of all previous works by the German pagan metal pioneer.
