The Metal Opera Pt. II - CD

The title of this project is made up of the words Avalon and Fantasia (fantasy) and refers to “a world beyond human imagination”. However, there should be no doubt that AVANTASIA is far more than just a project. In addition to EDGUY mastermind Tobias Sammet, the following musicians are represented on “AVANTASIA”: Markus Grosskopf, Henjo Richter, Alex Holzwarth, Kai Hansen, Andre Matos (ex-Angra), David DeFeis (Virgin Steele), Oliver Hartmann (ex-At Vance), Rob Rock (Impellitteri), Sharon De Adel (Within Temptation) as well as other friends and companions, some of whom are among Sammet's greatest sources of inspiration and have had a lasting influence on his way of making music. “Avantasia” is not convincing because of the names of the musicians involved, but first and foremost because of its strong and moving songs, wrapped up in a fascinating and exciting story.
