FALKENBACH were originally a solo project conceived by Vratyas Vakyas and became officially active for the first time in 1995 with the demo "Læknishendr". After the fourth album, which contained partially reworked material from the early days, the multi-instrumentalist's next work appeared again as a compact new composition: "Tiurida" (2011) comes across as a mature summary of all the band's works, with the focus on the epic, melodic side of Pagan Metal, generously spiced with older Black Metal elements. With their audibly self-confident and experienced songwriting, FALKENBACH had reached exactly the point where they not only had the musical destination of their journey in detail in mind, but also the way to get there.
