Description
Blast Tyrant is Clutch's sixth studio album! It was originally released in March 2004.
Guitarist Tim Sult and his bandmates start strong with the opening track, 'Mercury', which begins with an extended instrumental passage full of aggressive riffs before vocalist Neil Fallon takes centre stage. The partly political, partly protest rock song 'Mob Goes Wild' was a minor hit on modern rock radio seven years ago and remains an album highlight, as does the southern rock-infused hard rock and 'danger zone' lyrics of 'Cypress Grove'. Other favourites include the bass-heavy Profits of Doom, with its pseudo-psychedelic vocals, and the moderately paced rock of Promoter (of Earthbound Causes), with its humorous, out-there lyrics such as “A little bit of Ritalin goes a long way”.
