IN FLAMES from Gothenburg. This alone says so much! The Swedes co-invented a whole new genre by combining the aggressiveness of death and thrash metal with the melodic approach of more traditional metal styles: melodic death metal or Gothenburg death metal. But as if this wasn't enough, they changed their face over and over again and became an even more unique entity somewhere in between modern metal and alternative rock.
