No one was driving the Car - Green Colored 2- LP

Six years have passed since LA DISPUTE released their last album “Panorama”. Since then, the post-hardcore band from Michigan - consisting of Jordan Dreyer on vocals, Brad Vander Lugt on drums, Chad Morgan-Sterenberg and Corey Stroffolino on guitar and Adam Vass on bass - have overcome the stagnation of the pandemic, celebrated the tenth anniversaries of “Wildlife” and “Rooms Of The House” and started work on “NO ONE WAS DRIVING THE CAR”. The fifth studio album is the first that the band has produced entirely by themselves. It was created in Grand Rapids and Detroit, the UK, Australia and the Philippines: “I think the change of scenery breathed new life into us every time we came back to it,” says Dreyer. Partly inspired by the 2017 psychological thriller “First Reformed”, “NO ONE WAS DRIVING THE CAR” deals with the unease in the shadow of the impending apocalypse, which has been noticeably exacerbated by technological progress. The title comes from a quote from a police officer that Dreyer read in a newspaper article about a fatal accident involving a self-driving Tesla - an absurd event that raises questions about the control we have over our own lives. In fourteen dynamic tracks, the band explores the existential theme and the human need for comfort and security in an existence where we are often thrust into chaos without permission.
