When 'Darkness Remains' saw the light of day in April 2017, all speculation about a possible drop in quality or a supposed flash in the pan immediately fell silent. Because 'Darkness Remains' also delivered the hoped-for NWOBHM-inspired thrills and thrilled the Night Demon faithful. At the same time, the musicians took a bold step forward, refining their songwriting skills, developing an even more individual sound and sharpening their weapons to consciously take compositional risks. Launching with the fabulous single 'Welcome To The Night' and its accompanying video clip, 'Darkness Remains' as an album featured numerous crowd favorites and live set classics such as 'Dawn Rider', 'Black Widow', 'Hallowed Ground' and the fast-paced title track 'Darkness Remains'. The album catapulted Night Demon to the next level both artistically and commercially and was a crucial milestone in the band's career.

The 2024 Deluxe Edition of 'Darkness Remains' contains the original full-length album, enhanced by a new remastering by Night Demon six-stringer Armand John Anthony. Additional extras include several songs that were previously only available as territorially limited bonus material on earlier versions of the album, including Queen's 'We Will Rock You' and a powerful version of Black Sabbath's 'Turn Up The Night'.
