Since their formation in 1991, Nightfall have been among the pioneers of Greek metal alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh. The legendary death metal band from Athens sounds as vengeful as ever. But backed by a monumental production and a powerful message, their eleventh studio album is their darkest and most epic work to date.

Like their contemporaries, Nightfall interweave gothic melodies with blackened death metal. Children of Eve contains the most infectious collection of hooks the band has ever created, thanks to the mixing and mastering of Jacob Hansen. Masked frontman Efthimis Karadimas, armed with cloak and dagger, commands the lead single “I Hate” behind blastbeats that fly like a swarm of arrows.

But Children of Eve wouldn't be Nightfall if they didn't have a deeper message. While “The Cannibal” is bursting with divine tremolo picking, the lyrics are about how religious structures and fanaticism can devour you. “I hold the power / to explain your screams”, howls Efthimis with chilling intensity. intensity.
