Songs of the Shaman - Book 2-CD

On their album ‘Songs of the Shaman’, NYTT LAND interpret traditional shamanic songs and spells of the Manchu-Tungusic language groups among Siberia's ethnic groups. These songs use very old musical techniques such as throat singing and drumming. All songs were recorded in the original language. In this way, the band aims to preserve their original power, which also comes from the intonation and rhythm of the words. This collection of ancient magic in the form of necromancy, defence spells and blessings has been carefully selected and deliberately excludes harmful curses. NYTT LAND are a ritual Nordic folk band founded by the married couple Natalya and Anatoly Pakhalenko in August 2013 in the West Siberian city of Kalachinsk, which was built on the banks of the river Om and as a station on the Trans-Siberian Railway. While NYTT LAND continued to release works on their own, the Siberian elements in their music came to the fore more than ever before on their third label album ‘Ritual’. With ‘Songs of the Shaman’, NYTT LAND invite all those who are willing to listen to them on a musical dream journey to a hidden place in time and space where the spirits still rule and which even the gods fear.
