Before his untimely death, Chester Bennington personally announced a Grey Daze reunion for 2017 on social media. Never getting the chance to start the reunion himself, his bandmates, friends, family and various collaborators stepped up to give the music the second chance it deserved and finish what the late singer had started. The musicians - longtime members Sean Dowdell [drums, backing vocals] and Mace Beyers [bass] and Cristin Davis [guitar] - recruited in 2017 to tackle this artistic and personal endeavor. As the follow-up to their critically acclaimed and fan-favorite 2020 album "Amends," this next chapter of music is the completion of their commitment to friendship. For "The Phoenix," the band teamed up with producer Esjay Jones and did much of the recording at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles.
