Description
2-CD reissue with new mastering by Patrick W. Engel at TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY 2025.
When Watchtower released their debut album “Energetic Disassembly” in 1985, they turned the metal world upside down. The material set completely new standards. Nobody was more innovative (and more extreme) at the time. Awkward style descriptions such as “jazz metal” or “techno thrash” are created. Watchtower were originally formed in Austin, Texas, in May 1982. That month, singer Jason McMaster was joined by bassist Doug Keyser, drummer Rick Colaluca and guitarist Billy White. In their early stages, Watchtower were heavily inspired by the NWOBHM and played songs by Iron Maiden, Angel Witch and Raven - plus, of course, several songs by the Canadian prog gods Rush. As a result, the band gradually developed their own individual style and recorded demos of their own songs. But the record companies didn't want to bite. For this reason, they decided to release the groundbreaking album “Energetic Disassembly” on their own label, Zombo Records.
