Founded in New York in 1987, Winger achieved great popularity with their self-titled studio album released in 1988. The album contains the hits “Headed for a Heartbreak” and “Madalaine”. In February 1989, the album reached number 21 on the Billboard 200 and stayed in the charts for 63 weeks. It reached platinum status in the USA and gold status in Canada and Japan. Winger toured with Scorpions, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Skid Row and others in support of the album.
