FALKENBACH were originally a solo project conceived by Vratyas Vakyas and became officially active for the first time in 1995 with the demo "Læknishendr". Its regular debut album was released a year later under the Icelandic title " ...En their medh riki fara..." (1996). Supported by very atmospheric keyboard inserts and acoustic guitars, obvious influences from the BATHORY classics "Blood Fire Death" and "Hammerheart" as well as from the blossoming Nordic black metal scene formed the foundation. "...En their medh riki fara..." quickly gained cult status in blackened pagan metal circles and has retained its raw, emotional charm to this day.
