Description
THE GATHERING undoubtedly belong to the pioneers of dark sounds.
With "Mandylion" in 1995, the band broke new ground by moving away from death metal and completely abandoning growl. It was also the first album with Anneke von Giersbergen as singer.
"Mandylion" and the follow-up album "Nighttime Birds" from 1997 are released as CD reissues by MDD Records.
