Description
Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Wretched emerged in 2005 as a formidable force in the metal scene, blending elements of melodic, death, technical, and progressive metal. They evolved from their early days as And Since Forgotten. After signing to Victory Records in 2008, the band established their reputation with their debut album, The Exodus of Autonomy (2009), followed by Beyond the Gate (2010), Son of Perdition (2012) and Cannibal (2014). They earned acclaim for their intricate compositions and intense live performances. Following a hiatus from touring after 2015, Wretched returned in 2023 under Metal Blade Records, unveiling Decay — a conceptual masterpiece blending haunting melodies with progressive complexity. This fifth album, a prequel to Beyond the Gate, delves into existential themes, D&D-inspired mythology and personal loss.
